Halikos Staff Raise $15,000 for local Darwin charities

It’s no secret that Halikos are generous supporters of local charities, not for profits and organisations. The Halikos Group Christmas Party, held on the 2nd of December was just another excuse to support the community.  The Halikos Helping Hands, a staff run group raise money throughout the year for 3 local charities being Riding for the Disabled NT, Autism NT and Dementia Australia.

On the night 3 cheques were presented to representatives of each organisation to the order of $5000. The Helping Hands team and Halikos staff raised $7500 in 2017. “This year we have walked, we have fundraised, we have dressed up, we have cooked and we have sold more raffle tickets than you can poke a stick at” Lily North, Helping Hands Chair. The Halikos Directors, John Halikos and Shane Dignan generously doubled this amount bringing the total to $15,000.

The staff also held a raffle on the night to kick start the 2018 tally and raised $3460. “Raising money for charity is a feel good exercise but it’s also a great way of creating a positive culture”.
